Ergonomics Part 1
Ergonomics in the office is the study of how human physiology can be designed into the commercial office environment. This needs to be studied based on the individual as well as groups of people. Our behaviours at work is constantly changing to meet the challenges of changes of the dynamics of teams, pressures on the business, changes in business culture and management thinking.
Break out spaces
A stimulating and thought provoking break out space can create a positive work atmosphere and increase staff morale. Seating should be colourful and relaxing and easily  reconfigured and the space afforded to this activity should be comparable to the size of the organisation. Our break out seating section provides many options.

Office furniture should enhance the work activity, there should be space for creativity on the desk and it should not just be used to keep equipment and files of the floor. For normal work the desk should not be smaller than 1200mm long and 800mm deep. European standards for height are 720mm. There should also be a space of 1200mm behind occupied desks for freedom of movement and 800mm behind unoccupied desks.
Distance from the eye to the VDU screen should be 500-700mm. The monitor position should be 10 to 20 below the horizontal vision on the user. The distance between the thighs and the palms should not exceed 260mm and the angle of the elbow should be greater than 90 degrees when using the keyboard.

We have extended the economy MW range to include wooden tambour cupboards. The cabinets feature a silver shutter and a carcass in beech or light oak. These tables come assembled and ready to use in a choice of black or grey frames and laminated tops in Red, Blue, Yellow, Beech, Grey or Green. There is a choice of PVC or MDF protective edging at no extra cost and a non stacking and stackable version is also available. All the tables have levellers for use on uneven floors. Needless to say while these prices are low we are also able to give quantity discounts when appropriate. Integrated office furniture that allows the flat screen, keyboard and mouse to be shut securely away within a self contained module Apart from the obvious security benefit this also free up the desk surface to allow for non IT related work. It is locked away in a smooth hydraulic action in a module designed to hold screens from 17-19”. 25mm thick MFC tops are available in Oak, Beech, Ash ,Cherry or Silver
