Morris Office Furniture is a part of the Morris Furniture Group and is possibly the largest independent furniture manufacturer in the UK. Based in Glasgow the Company was started in 1904 the Company still remains in the hands of the Morris family headed up by Robert Morris. The newly enlarged group includes Roc office furniture in Birmingham who specialise in te manufacture of office furniture and associated products top the Health and educational sector, Morris Contract Furniture in Campsie north of Glasgow. Diamik Solutions have been rebranded as Morris Education as the mane suggests this division is a specialist in the education sector and in particular FF&E projects. Domestic furniture production is spit between G Plan cabinets, Morris Home Syle and Relax at Eaze.
Morris office furniture are best known for the B4 beam and M100 cantilever office furniture ranges. Recent additions include Prism a bench system with sliding desk tops, Fusion an elegant linear desking range with stylish tapered legs and a minimalist feel. Established in 1953 when the first drafting table was invented by Bruno Ferrares. The table offered height and angle adjustment in a single movement and became the market leader over the next few years. The resulting products which included mobile pan chests, mobile filing cabinets and multi drawer units and vertical plan chest enabled the Company to become one of the leading manufactures of drawing office furniture in the world. Joe Columbo resulted in the Boby Trolley which is still sold and exhibited in the New York museum of modern Art. Thre Boby is a multi compartment mobile storage trolley normally available in ABS black or white which services as a useful side storage unit for drawing office and studio workers

Formed in 1975 this Scandinavian based office furniture Company employs 160 people and has a presence in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The headquarters is in Fjerritslev near Copenhagen. Manufacture of a broad range of products including conference and canteen chairs has been brought about through successful acquisitions of Smithcoline in 1998 and the Norwegian ergonomic office chair manufacturer STAL OG STIL in 2004. 2006 saw Rabinbi taken over by the Swedish investment Company. Ratos has since also added HAG seating to its portfolio.
RBM’s models include Flip and Fold and Meeting Point reception and break out seating. In collaboration with Aalborg University in Denmark RBM have helped to develop exciting research into to “the seated human2 utilising the University’s “Anybody” software computer model

Bush office furniture is owned by Bush Industries in the US and have operating facilities in the New York and Pennsylvania areas. In Europe Bush office furniture is manufactured in Germany under a joint venture formed between the Rohr Group and Bush in 1997. The Rohr group was first established in 1953 by Gerhard Rohr and Konrad Driftmeier and was principally involved in the manufacture of Guest room furniture. By 1987 the Rohr group under the management of the sons of Gerhard Rohr were involved in the manufacture of commercial and home office furniture.
With the JV with Bush the group rebranded in 2007 and launched new ranges of office furniture including the techno, Signo and Analog ranges.

Vario Office furniture
Vario was founded in 1872 by Wilheim Dichmann in Kelkheim Germany. He owned a water powered saw mill and became known for the production of high quality furniture in walnut and oak veneers. The company began producing office furniture as long ago as 1908 and by the 50’s became known as one of the most innovative office furniture manufactures in Germany. In 1979 the BIT office furniture range was produced which was of the first office furniture ranges to carry a fully integrated cable management system. In 1994 came Tecture a comprehensive cantilever based office furniture range and in 1996 Office mobile a leading design of mobile office screen range. Vario also offer a range of innovative underdesk storage pedestals and caddies for use at the workstation. Vario is still a family run business with 7 members of the Dichmann family currently employed.

Lammhults design group
A collection of Swedish based design orientated companies who specialise in the design of office furniture and office seating products to the European marketplace. Bases 450 miles south of Stockholm in an area that is renowned for furniture production. The head office and production site occupies over 10,000 square metres. Lammhults employs and works with a number of world class furniture designers.

HAG office chairs
HAG have been at the forefront of the design of ergonomic office chair s since 1943. From their base in Roros, Central Norway they have become the leading manufacturer of office chairs in Scandinavia n in the top 5 in Europe. They have subsidiaries in Germany, Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands.
The HAG principle of correct posture is all about balance. The seat should drop at the front as the user leaning forwards and rises when leaning backwards. Andrew Muirhead and Co
Muirhead supply high performance leather to the contract and office seating industry. Their heritage can be traced back to 1758 when the founder John Muirhead began to export glove and chamois leather to America. Following this came the production of glue from animal skins. In 1820 James his son took over the business followed by Andrew James’s son in 1840. In 1870 the Company changed its name to Andrew Muirhead and Sons and began to provide quality leather for upholstery, luggage and shoes. This carried on until the 1960’s when the demand for upholstery leather overshadowed all other applications. In 1968 the Company became Andrew Muirhead and Co. Today the Company provides high quality leather to the office furniture marketplace as well being the leading supplier to the airline sector. They also have a specialist automotive and marine division. Popular ranges of leather include the Argyll, Elgin and Ingleston ranges

Estel Office furniture
Estel formed in 1937 by the current CEO Alfredo Stella. Alfredo’s main passion was for design in the domestic furniture market and early successes included Extensible Stella a wardrobe with sliding doors. In the 70’s Estel became one of the leading domestic furniture makers in Italy and started to market office furniture market through a new division called Estel Office Project.
The 80s saw rapid expansion of the office furniture division and the creation of Estella seating a division dedicated to the production of office chairs and reception seating. At present sales exceed 100 million Euros and office furniture represents 85% of the total turnover. Based in Italy Estel exports to most countries in Europe and derives 40% of its sales from its growing export division.
