Gobi office chairs and tables

Gobi are  a design orientated and innovative Danish Company that manufacture office furniture., desks and office chairs. They employ around 25 people in Copenhagen and were founded by Lisbeth and Gobi Olsen in 1967. These days the Company is run by their son Jacob who has taken the Company away from the domestic and into the contract market. The Company has a 2000 square metre showroom in the heart of Copenhagen.  Notable products on offer are the Gobi 1 chair constructed from three dimensional veneers. The chair is available fully upholstered with a swivel, four leg or sled base giving the chair a variety of applications within the office. The three dimensional shape improves the comfort level and helps the user achieve the correct sitting position Gobi also manufacture desks and meeting tables for the cdontract European market place

Fiam glass furniture

Fiam are a manufacturer of glass furnishings including glass desks and tables and are based in Ancona, Northern Italy. Fiam was founded in 1973 by Vittori Livi a craftsman with a passion for glass. The Company have since relocated to no less than 5 factories as they continued to expand. In collaboration with some of Europe top designers they manufacture some outstanding pieces including the Marea range of tables designed by Vittorio Livi. The tables are available with either 12mm or 15mm
Glass tops with 10mm curved table frame. A range of display cabinets and occasional tables are also available from the same designer. Many of Fiam’s glass furnishings were used on the set for the hit film Slum dog Millionaire

Danerka are a Danish manufacturer of high quality conference office and contract chairs  and have been in production since 1980. Working in collaboration bwith many well known international furniture designers Denerka also founded its own in house design team in 1999. At present 75% of the company’s production goes to expeort. Notable products include the Rondo classic café and multipurpose chair which is manufactured in premium moulded plywood This chair is offered in 25 solid colour and wood finishes. There is also a mini version for children. Danerka has supplied products to most of the Universities in the UK, The Linda McCartney Centre and the Welsh Assembly. Danerka also produce a comprehensive choice of meeting tables

Remploy are a government sponsored company who provide employment for disabled people or people that has other difficulties that affect them getting normal work. Bes Star are a  Canadian manufacturer of commercial office and home office furniture based in Quebec and were founded by Jean Marie Tardif in 1945 The company began its production of RTA (ready to assemble) office furniture in 1970 driven by the availability of particle board of improved quality.. In 1986 the company went public on eth Montréal stock exchange. In 1987 Bes Star acquired one of its competitors Decabois who also manufactured office furniture. The enlarged Company has had mixed fortunes ever since with a number of refinancing and restructuring initiatives.  
Products include a number of home office workstations, traditional executive desks and storage cupboards and meeting tables. Bes Star are ISO 9001 certified

Sitonit  are a Belgium based company specialising in bean bags of every description. The beans used are premium quality EPS beans which absorb the warmth of the body and create a very comfortable experience. The fabric used is PU coated polyester with a choice of 18 vibrant colours. To wash the bean bag simply pour the beans into a container and was the bag in a washing machine, but do not tumble dry. The bean bags can be customised by the application of logos and individual designs. Special sized are available up to a maxim of 3m square.

Bonaldo and the Poly chair

A chair that has received a great deal of acclaim is the Poly chair, manufactured by Bonaldo in Italy and designed by Karin Rashid. The chair is manufactured from injection moulded polycarbonate and is produced in a number of vibrant colours or clear. Suitable for contract use in commercial environments Poly can be used indoors and outdoors.  The chairs designer Karin Rashid was born in Egypt in 1960 and has his own design practice in New York. He has many designs on permanent exhibition all over the world including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Bonaldo are located near Verona in Northern Italy and have been producing meeting tables, conference chairs, bookcases and cupboards since 1935. The Company is well known for producing Hi tech designs for the European market. A new 5000 square metre showroom opens at the end of the year

The new range of office furniture from UK Manufacturer Komfort is called Less Desk. Constructed from a very simple beam system and tubular height adjustable leg the company claim the desks can be constructed in under 30 seconds. The benefits are clear a small number of components in production means less impact on the environment both in the manufacture and in eventual recycling. A smaller number of components reduces transportation costs. Future reconfiguration costs are also reduced as are mistakes in ordering and specifying as there are fewer components to deal with. The range is available in Komforts standard top finishes of oak, maple, beech and white and the desk cable management system is via a sliding top mechanism revealing a large space for substantial cable management options
Normal lead time is 3-4 weeks for order

Lips

Dema are an Italian company specialising in soft seating for the office and contract industry. Founded by the Dema family in Tuscany in the early sixties the Company has won many awards for high quality and innovative seating solutions. The most notable is the Lips which won the Good Design award in Chicago in 2004. In 1999 the Company moved to a new factory occupying 15000 square metres San Gimignano Northern Italy. Other products include sofas, sofa beds and coffee tables

Wishbone chair

Carl Hansen and Sons have been manufacturing furniture in Denmark since 1908. Remarkably the company is still in the hands of the same family. Carl the founder, was a trained cabinet maker and began by making a modest range of table, cahirs and cupbpards. His collaboration with emerging designer Hans J Wegner in the1940’s was behind the Company’s future prosperity, going on to produce the classic Wishbone chair in the early 1950’s. Holger Hansen son of Carl lead the Company until his untimely death in 1962, and now his son Knud is at the helm. Now Company only produces furniture designed by the Hans J Wegner studio, continually re introducing the designs that Hans J Wegner left behind and built their success. Products include Sofas and tub chairs, desks, conference tables and boardroom furniture. The Company also has offices in Japan and the US
