Artifort are a Dutch manufacturer of contract and office seating based in Maastricht. They were originally founded by an upholsterer called Jules Wagemans. By the end of the 30’s the Company was well known in Holland and survived the Great depression by producing innovative furniture designs. The early use of Epeda coiled springs, until then only used in mattresses, instead of straw and horsehair, gave the factory a huge boost. Led by Jules son Henricus the name Artifort was adopted, taken from the latin Arti for Art and Forti for strength. After the second world war Artifort resumed production with more modern designs often with a Scandinavian influence. The appointment of designer Gerrit Rietveld propelled the Company to further expansion with groundbreaking designs such as the Congo Chair. In 1957 Artfort employed over 400 people and converted a disused brewery into its new factory. Designer Kho Liang Ie was responsible for much of Atifort’s output in the 60’s and 70’s as well as the move into the international contract furniture market. Artiforts latest collections include a broad range of reception and break our seating, meeting tables and conference furniture. In 1986 the 4th generation Henri-Jean Wagemans became Managing director. Artifort beame a co operation with Steelcase Strafor the US office furniture giant and is now part of the Lande group

Elios the high density stacking chair is a firm favourite with conference and training centres.  This office chair gives the appeal of a thin stylish, contemporary chair frame that disguises its strength and allows high density stack ability of over 40 chairs. The high density polypropylene frame is available in white, black or dark gray and the frame in epc silver or chrome. The chair has a linking facility suitable for conferences where the chairs are set out in rows. Eclipse reception desks are now available with cost saving options. The brushed kickplate is normally recessed into the base of the reception desks can also be mounted on the surface which reduces the overall price by around 7.5%,. It is also possible to have no kickplate at all providing a further saving of 8.75%. The Eclipse range of reception desks is characterised by the optional feature LED lighting embedded into the claw supports that support the glass counter top. Alternatively and for less the counter can be supported by round satin anodised pillar supports. Veneer and laminate finishes are available with this reception desk and most of the modules are available in a laminate finish on a 7-10 day turnaround. The standard lead time for the veneer finishes is 4-5 weeks from order Chrome strips highlight the front of the desk which can also be further enhanced by under plinth lighting.
