More than 200 Jobs Saved at Triumph

More than 200 jobs have been saved after Triumph office furniture was bought out by the firms management team.

The Triumph furniture company based in Merthyr Tydfil have been supplying office furniture for 60 years before going into administration in March of this year. They specialise in the manufacture of office filing cabinets and metal storage cupboards for the domestic and European market

Partners at FRP Advisory became joint administrators when Triumph went into administration on the 11th of march.

The joint administrators have been trading the business as a going-concern whilst reviewing interests from potential buyers. Whilst there was a fair degree of interest the administrators wanted to make sure the company would be in safe hands.

The company intends to continue producing quality office furniture solutions that are more relevant in the every changing office workspace

Super Brand Google Buckingham Palace Re-fit

Super Brand Google Buckingham Palace road Re-fit

Google, the company behind the world’s most popular search engine and a lifeline for millions of internet users, with its now iconic logo it is as familiar as our own homes.

With such success comes the inevitable expansion and after Google recently took on yet another London office near Victoria station it needed to fit the place out with a funky and fresh interior that fits the brand and its values. After appointing Scott brownrigg interior design with a time scale of just 4 months the designers were up against it to create something amazing.

You would be forgiven for thinking a company the size of Google with offices all over the world would have a firm idea of how they want their offices to look but this is not the case, each Google office is designed with a theme relative to where it is in the world, Unfortunately for the designers of this project ‘London’ was already taken by the companies Belgrave House office, so a London-Brighton theme was decided upon. A throw back to a by gone era when the Victoria to Brighton rail link was at its peak.    This theme was achieved in a number of ways including using wall graphics of Brighton pier and creating small meeting rooms to look like beech huts.

As is to be expected the Google logo features prominently in the main reception area with the lettering dominating the white wall behind the reception area, each ‘O’ is a door way leading to a meeting room whilst the others letters are made of glossy plastic.  A simple straight reception desk sits almost discretely in front of the branding.

The workers or ‘Googlers’ as they are known all work on laptops so various breakout spaces have been created furnished with loose furniture from Knoll, Hitch Mylius and Arper where they can choose to sit and work or work in a more traditional way at one of the 300 bene workstations arranged in clusters of six and eight.

The design of the staff restaurant takes on a theme of its own a more Asian and sushi inspired design complete with a large graphic of bamboo.

All though the Google design may at first look over the top and expensive once everything is stripped back there is logical and functional working space, the use of colours and ideas is what has bought the scheme together rather than just throwing money at it and hoping for the best, there are many ideas that can be taken from the Google office and Scaled down to fit your own working environment.
