Erro Aarnio

Eero Aarnio born 1932 A Finish designer born in Helsinki and known mainly for the bubble chair and ball chair which have been seen in many science fiction movies and, of course in the hit movie Austin Powers. Eero studied at the Institute of Arts in Helsinki and in the early sixties began working with plastics and designing furniture items with playful shapes and colours. Many of his works can be found at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. In June 2006 one of his latest designs the Trioli children’s chair received the prestigious Adi Compasso D’Aro award. The bubble and ball chair are can be used in break out and reception areas and general office seating.
