Kinnarps Office Furniture Europe’s third largest manufacturer is based in a small village in Sweden called Kinnarp. Founded in 1942 by Evy and Jal Andersson and with two other employees the Company initially started out manufacturing bespoke office furniture for architects. In 1943 Kinnarps graduated to the supply of tambour cupboards to the Swedish Government. In the 50’s a complete range of modular office furniture was successfully launched followed by a furniture catalogue in 1952. In 1959 Kinnarps were carrying out their own deliveries and installations in Sweden. Further growth in the 60’s lead to a showroom in Stockholm, employees numbered 24 and the turnover began to reach 2 million Krona. It wasn’t until the eldest son became CEO in 1973 that Kinnarps considered the export market.. A new factory led to a more comprehensive range of office furniture, office chairs, reception seating. In 1993 they were the first furniture Company in Sweden to receive ISO9001 this was followed by ISO14001 on 1997.In 2000 Kinnarps was awarded the Competence Company of the year award.
