Tomas Stringdahl is one of his generation's most versatile Swedish designers. Throughout his career, he has designed and developed several products for contemporary furniture companies. Tomas also works an architect where he focuses on functional yet spectacular villas which have often been featured on national TV. When designing The Lightning Tomas wanted to create a more personal workstation where the lamp is part of it and decorates the desktop. With The Lightning, Tomas demonstrates his love for simple shapes where the top and bottom are a reflection of each other. The rod that strikes through the lamp shades are not hidden and is also part of the impacting design expression. Another sleek design feature is that both upward and downward light can be set separately using simple buttons giving the user control over the desired ambience and lighting levels.
